Deadline is January 16 to submit applications for REALTOR® Magazine's "30 Under 30" feature, which runs in June. Criteria include business success, leadership, and ingenuity. Nominees must be NAR members and 29 years old or younger as of May 31, 2007.

Nominations can come from AEs, other NAR members, or the applicants themselves. For more info and to access the application form, click here.

Existing-home sales continued to recover last month following a rise in October, with the level of sales activity suggesting a turn in the market, NAR says. Total existing-home sales, including single-family, townhomes, condominiums and co-ops, rose 0.6 percent to a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 6.28 million units in November from a level of 6.24 million in October, but were 10.7 percent below the 7.03 million-unit pace in November 2005. David Lereah, NAR's chief economist, said modest gains are expected for home sales. "As the housing market recovers from its correction, existing-home sales should be rising gradually during 2007. It looks like we may have reached the low point for the current cycle in September," he said. For more info, click here.

Politics will be at the top of the agenda when politically active REALTORS® and state and local association officials gather in Washington next week for training on political activism and to hear the latest on the national political terrain in meetings hosted by NAR government affairs. Maintaining a strong REALTORS® Political Action Committee (RPAC) will be among the topics to be discussed. To learn more about contributing to RPAC, recognized as the biggest and most bipartisan contributor during the last national election cycle, click here.

Do you know how to search the MLS by firm?

Simply go to search, residential, and scroll to the bottom of the page. In the "original list firm" box enter the name of the firm you are searching for. You will need to enter other criteria such as active or single family, etc. Hit the search button. This search will only work if you have spelled the firm name exactly as it appears in the MLS.
