Education Events Our current education schedule is now available. To register for classes online click on the "Education Events!" icon when reading our newsletter, or simply visit our webpage at www.scaor.com. At our website, click on "Members" then "Class/Event Registration" for a complete list of classes.

This is a great opportunity for resident licensees to get their credits early. Thirty-four classes are scheduled including quadrennial NAR Ethics training. REALTORS® must take the ethics training at least once every four years to retain their membership with NAR. Failure to complete the training is considered a violation of a membership duty for which REALTOR® membership is suspended until the required training is completed. Training for this four-year cycle must be completed by December 31, 2008.

Non-resident licensees must complete 15 credit hours of continuing education no later than April 30, 2007. Delaware currently accepts elective continuing education credits approved by the Maryland Commission exclusive of any course relating specifically to Maryland laws.

COMMITTEE CORNER

RENTAL AFFAIRS COMMITTEE

The Rental Affairs Committee met January 10 at the Ocean Point Grill. Harold Marmon and Jo-Ann Bacher were recognized as the "2006 Outstanding Rental Service Award" recipients. Harold is a rental agent with Coldwell Banker Resort Realty in Rehoboth and Jo-Ann is a rental manager with Jack Lingo Realtors in Rehoboth. Congratulations to Harold and Jo-Ann for their outstanding service in the industry.

This year's chairperson, Harold Marmon, plans to invite a variety of guest speakers to the monthly meetings. Previous guest speakers include Governor Minner, Pat Wright - Mayor of Dewey Beach, Beth Heid - Beebe Medical Center, Janet Wurtzel - DE Dept. of Tourism and Juli Tull - Delmarva Power just to name a few. This year the committee is looking for speakers to discuss topics including interior design, technology, tourism, inland bays, local restaurants, etc. Rental cleaning continues to be a hot topic of discussion. A subcommittee will review the cleaning issues and establish some guidelines. Overall, the meeting was informative and an excellent opportunity for agents to ask questions and to exchange views regarding the rental industry
