SAVE A LIFE -- GIVE BLOOD
Blood Drive Coming to the SCAOR office on May 1

Answers to Common Excuses for Not Donating

  • "I don't get any benefits from donating".
Besides that good feeling you get from saving lives, you will have helped to maintain a safe, adequate blood supply. Surely that is a major benefit for you, your family, and friends. On the personal side, you receive a mini-physical, including a blood pressure and hemoglobin check.

  • "I'll just wait until I'm sure my blood type is needed".
Your blood type is needed every day of the year. Blood Bank of Delaware/Eastern Shore depends on a steady adequate blood supply of all types for all patients in the hospitals served. If you donate before an emergency, there may not be an emergency.

  • "I don't like needles".
The fear of needles is certainly not uncommon. No one likes them but, donating may hurt a lot less than you imagine. It just feels like a quick pin prick on the skin.

  • "I'll pass out".
Giving blood is safe and easy. Eligible donors should experience no adverse effects. You can go back to your normal activities as soon as you have rested in the canteen area and have had some refreshments.

  • "I'm afraid of AIDS".
There is NO way you can be exposed to AIDS by donating blood. All equipment used by blood banks is pre-sterilized and disposed of after one use. There is no risk of getting any disease from donating blood.

ON THE SAFE SIDE

Each week we will be covering a portion of the "MLS Rules and Regulations." To be on the SAFE SIDE, please review the rules each week to eliminate errors in the system which could lead to MLS violations and fines. These rules and regulations have been submitted and reviewed by NAR and are in full compliance with National Association policy.

SERIOUS VIOLATIONS

When a complaint alleges one of the violations listed below, the SCAOR staff will confirm a violation in fact. If there is no violation, the matter is closed with SCAOR staff contacting the person who filed the original complaint when that person has requested notification of the alleged violation outcome.

When the Participant has violated the MLS Rules and Regulations, an MLS Listing Complaint & Fine Notification will be sent to the attention of the Participant. The minimum fine for these violations is $100. Serious violations include failure to:

  1. Input a new listing required to be entered into the system within 48 hours.
  2. Report contract pending, contingencies and deletion of contingency flags when a listing is transferred to a contract pending status within 48 hours.
  3. Report closed (sold) listings within 48 hours.
  4. Input a price change within 48 hours.

InnoVia Forms

If you have a new community/building to be added to the MLS system, please fill out the "New Community" or "New Building" form completely from the forms section of InnoVia. If there are existing communities that are not in the system, please give us the information so they can be added. New buildings and communities cannot be added until the County website has the complete information such as community name, parcel numbers and/or unit numbers.
