Join DAR in Slidell, LA and help build a Habitat House at the Global Village. Are you willing, able, and ready to roll up your sleeves to show REALTORS® care? From September 16th - 22nd, you can help build a home, add to the economy, and feel great about your working vacation. Currently, six people are committed to help, but more are needed. Travel at your own expense by plane, train, or automobile to Slidell; Build a house from Monday through Friday; Then, reward yourself with dinner in New Orleans Friday night; And travel back on Saturday afternoon.

If you are up for this challenging and rewarding event, contact Phil McGinnis at 302-270-0656 or pjm@mcginnisrealty.com, Dick Brogan at 302-398-8200, or Teri Whalen at the DAR office 302-734-4444 or Teri@delawarerealtor.com.

ALPHABET SOUP: WHAT IS RPAC AND WHY SHOULD I DONATE?

RPAC is the REALTOR® Political Action Committee that monitors legislation and elections that impact REALTORS®. REALTORS® may designate their contribution directly to support specific issues, such as health care initiatives, smart growth, and ensuring banks remain in commerce rather than in real estate. You may join other REALTORS® who want to support issues rather than candidates. As a REALTOR®, you have options and may designate your support. Make your REALTOR® RPAC donation and note "Issues Mobilization" in the memo section, if you prefer to support issues and not general RPAC.

Real Estate remains local and your RPAC donations remain local too. This year SCAOR received $8,000 from NAR and $6,000 from DAR to have a professional public opinion company survey conducted with Sussex County residents on Comprehensive Land Use in Sussex County. The results will benefit you and your business for years to come. Last year, Sussex County Association of REALTORS® contributed more than $18,000 to RPAC. It is easy to see that we get our share locally!

SCAOR will be announcing a joint members meeting and RPAC fundraiser for this fall.
