DELAWARE REALTOR® OF THE YEAR

The Delaware Association of REALTORS® is pleased to announce that the 2007 REALTOR® Of The Year is Rick Allamong, Broker and Branch Vice President for Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage, Bethany Beach, DE. Rick holds the CRS, GRI and ABR Designations from the National Association of REALTORS®. Allamong was the 2006 President of the Sussex County Association of REALTORS®. Before serving as Board President, Rick volunteered his time to serve on the Board of Directors and is the current MLS Chair. He received the SCAOR President's Award in 2004. He has also given of his time to serve on numerous committees for the Delaware Association of REALTORS® and the National Association of REALTORS®. He is an active continuing education instructor for our industry and he drafts articles on industry topics for community newspapers. Rick is also a current member of the Delaware Real Estate Commission and a member of the Bethany-Fenwick Chamber of Commerce. Rick is an active volunteer in his community supporting the American Red Cross and American Cancer Society Relay for Life as well as participating in the Coldwell Banker Cares foundation. Rick believes that professionalism and maintaining professional integrity are paramount in operating a successful brokerage operation and often assists other Brokers with questions and concerns. Congratulations to Rick Allamong. He will represent Delaware at the National Association of REALTORS® annual conference in Las Vegas in November. ![]()

![]() MARK YOUR CALENDAR... The SCAOR Annual RCS Auction is scheduled for Thursday, October 18 at the Baycenter in Dewey Beach. The silent auction will be held downstairs (Crabber's Cove) from 5:30 - 6:30 pm. The live auction will begin around 7 pm in the Baycenter. Cost is $35 per person which includes admission, hors d'oeuvres and one free drink; walk-ins will be charged an additional $5. Register Online Today! ![]() Proper Use of the Word "REALTOR®" I've been noticing quite a few violations of the use of the word "REALTOR®" lately. To help refresh our memories, I thought I would share an article, which is written by Laurie Janik, NAR's legal counsel on the proper use of the word, "REALTOR®." ON THE SAFE SIDE

To be on the SAFE SIDE, please review the MLS Rules and Regulations to eliminate errors in the system that could lead to MLS violations and fines. To print out a copy of the rules, simply click on "standard forms" in InnoVia. Click on "2005 MLS fine system-rev07-04.pdf" for a complete list of MLS violations and fines associated with them. For the latest version of the MLS Rules and Regulations, click on "2007 MLS Rules.pdf." These rules and regulations have been submitted and reviewed by NAR and are in full compliance with National Association policy. HOW IT WORKS Alleged violations of the MLS Rules and Regulations must be made in writing and accompanied by a completed MLS Violation report and may be initiated by:
In order for a Participant to be fined, a completed MLS Violation Report and a copy of any substantiating documents must accompany the Violation report. Anonymous faxes will not constitute a formal complaint. These forms may be mailed, faxed or delivered to the SCAOR office. The staff will keep all correspondence confidential. MLS staff will check the database to confirm the violation. If a violation occurs, it will fall into one of the following categories:

Sussex County meeting on the proposed (Comprehensive Land Use Plan) are scheduled for Tuesday, September 25, 6:30 - 8:30 p.m. at the Rehoboth Beach Convention Center on Rehoboth Avenue, Rehoboth Beach, and Wednesday, September 26, 6:30 - 8:30 p.m. at the Laurel Fire Hall, 10th Street, Laurel.
