The bus departs from ERA Harrington in Dover, on Jefferic Boulevard at 7 a.m. It will then travel down to the SCAOR office in Georgetown, and will depart the SCAOR building at 8 a.m. We will arrive in D.C. at 10 a.m. You will be able to visit many vendors at the NAR convention, have lunch, then we will travel via the bus to Capitol hill to meet your elected representatives. Bus will depart D.C. at 6 p.m. There are no planned dinner stops. We will return to Georgetown by 8 p.m. and Dover by 9 p.m.

Register online here, and please indicate at which location you will meet the bus.

ROTY It's a triple play... NAR, DAR, and SCAOR each select a REALTOR® of the YEAR to recognize for their service, dedication, and promotion of our profession.  Do you know someone who is a leader, a volunteer, and a professional promoting your interests?  Do you wish to recognize someone who works behind the scenes for others in real estate? You may nominate yourself or someone else that you believe deserves recognition.  The 2008 ROTY recipient will be announced during our annual event scheduled for June 3 at the RBYCC. SCAOR's ROTY will be forwarded to DAR for the State ROTY... and of course, DAR's recipient will be submitted to NAR.   Last year Rick Allamong, Sussex and Delaware's ROTY, walked the stage at Las Vegas. Who will Sussex and Delaware send this year to Orlando? Maybe it will be you or your nominee.

This week's topic is Feedback - Showing of Property.

I have been working with a Buyer client for the past two weekends, and therefore have shown about 20 properties to my Buyer. I have only heard from 2 or 3 listing agents asking for feedback about my showings. This really surprises me. Are your Sellers not interested in hearing what potential buyers are saying about their property?

ETHICALLY SPEAKING...

How do you think the Professional Standards Panel ruled in last week's At A Glance? Below is the Hearing Panel's decision.

Case #7-1: Acceptance of Compensation from Buyer and Seller

A Hearing Panel of the Board’s Professional Standards Committee, which heard the complaint, concluded that REALTOR® B had acted in violation of Article 7 of the Code of Ethics. His efforts to represent the buyer and the seller at the same time, and the fact that he intended to be compensated by both parties, should have been fully disclosed to all parties in advance.

The Coastal Association of REALTORS® and the Women's Council of REALTORS® are presenting DARRYL DAVIS, a nationally known real estate speaker to show us "How To Be Great In 2008." Don't miss this rare opportunity!

The seminar will be held Monday, April 28, from 9 a.m. to Noon
at the Holiday Inn on 66th Street in Ocean City.
Networking and Breakfast 8 a.m. to 9 a.m.
COST: $50; unless you are a WCR member (only $25 for WCR members)
