BE SURE TO BRING PHOTO IDENTIFICATION TO THE SESSION.
W H Y ?
SCAOR identified the need to implement a security initiative designed to provide optimum protection for valuable MLS and consumer data. Our reliance on usernames and passwords as the sole form of user authentication is no longer an option. Members share their login information with technology vendors, friends and family, and even the consumer. SAFEMLS® tokens provide the necessary security to protect the MLS data and the consumers personal financial information, while still offering the flexibility and convenience for the truly mobile MLS member.
SAFEMLS® tokens generate one-time passwords with the simple touch of a button. Once a password is used, it can not be used to log in again thus significantly reducing the risk of shared passwords. SCAOR is confident that the SAFEMLS® solution is an important step to protecting the valuable data and information that is vital to our MLS members.
After March 2nd, 2009, all SCAOR members will be required to use a SAFEMLS® authenticator to obtain passwords for access to the MLS system.

MLS: NAR VIRTUAL OFFICE WEBSITE SETTLEMENT AGREEMENT
By now, you have heard about part 1 of the VOW requirement: Seller Opt Out Forms. We will be sending information to each Participant and have an explanation available to help you explain the form to your client.
Part II is for Participants only. Each Participant (Broker of Record) will need to review the definition of "Participant" to determine if they are in fact able to offer and accept compensation. If not, the Participant would no longer qualify to MLS membership after May 27, 2009. Consequently, if the Participant is going to offer and accept compensation they do not need to take any action.

ETHICALLY SPEAKING... Our Duties to Clients and Customers
In every second issue of At a Glance, we give you a Case Study where you get to be the judge, then see for yourself the next week how the Professional Standards panel ruled. We are now at Code of Ethics Article 9, and there is no Case study available from NAR on this one; however, it's well worth a review! Basically, we are bound by the Code of Ethics to maintain documentation such that it is current and in clear language. Maintaining current documentation not only makes business sense and helps the homebuyers and home sellers -- all REALTORS® are required to do so.
