JOIN US THIS THURSDAY...
for the REALTOR® Social Event of the Year!
Rental Agents: You have a special invite from the Foundation and the Rental Affairs Committee to join in the Auction fun!
The Rental Affairs Committee will present a basket for the SCAOR Community Service Foundation Auction, and will host a special table on wrapping day for rental agents to help wrap presents. Also, a coordinated effort is being made to recruit rental agents to help with the shopping. The Auction helps the needy in our community and is a wonderful networking opportunity. You are warmly invited to get involved in this community event for all REALTORS®, affiliates and friends! Please join us at the Auction, and volunteer for the shopping and wrapping days when those are finalized and announced. We look forward to seeing you!
IDX and RETS
An IDX (Internet Data Exchange) Push has been available to subscribers of the MLS. Now RETS (Real Estate Transaction Standard) is also available.
The purpose of both IDX and RETS is to display the contents of our MLS on your personal agent website, enabling visitors to search the entire contents of the MLS from your page.
What is the difference between IDX and RETS? IDX pushes the information from our MLS onto your website once per day. RETS allows for the information to be pulled from the MLS as often as every 15 minutes, which means the information on your website is more current.
The fee for either of these feeds is $200.00 per year. If you are interested in subscribing to one of these, please go onto Innovia and click on "Standard Forms." Then click on "MLS Governance" and fill out the "SCAOR FTP Order Form and Participant Data Access Agreement."
For those of you that already have IDX or RETS, please remember that as per your agreement, it is required that you notify SCAOR if you change website vendors.
For further information, please contact Opal at (302) 855-2300 Extension 202 or opal@scaor.com.

ETHICALLY SPEAKING... Our Duties to Clients and Customers
Please read the REALTORS® Code of Ethics Article 8. Based upon your understanding, how do you think the Hearing Panel ruled in last week's Case Study? Below is the Hearing Panel's decision.
Case #8-1: Failure to Put Deposit in Separate Account
It was the conclusion of the Hearing Panel that REALTOR ® A was in violation of Article 8 of the Code of Ethics for having failed to put Buyer C's earnest money deposit in a special account separate from his personal funds.
