Call Before Showing Requirement!

The MLS Rules and Regulations are being updated to impose a fine if it is reported that a property was shown using lockbox access and the showing agent did not call the listing office before showing. This fine will be $200 for the second offense of an agent.

At the time of the first offense, SCAOR will send the Broker a violation notice and require that the broker and the agent sign the notice acknowledging that the violation occurred. Upon the agent's second offense, the $200 fine will be accessed. It is recommended that you keep a record of the date, time, and person you spoke with when your showing appointment was made.

Exception to Call Before Showing

The coded features section of InnoVia regarding showing instructions has been updated to include "No Call Needed". This value can be utilized if you would like for a property to be shown without the requirement that the agent call the listing office. This is the only value that would eliminate your need to call before showing. Take a moment to go through your showing instructions to make sure this value has not been incorrectly selected.
