Agency - A New Way to do Business
Are you a Statutory Designated Buyer Agent? Are you a Statutory Designated Seller Agent? Are you a Common Law Agent? If someone in your company sells one of your listings, are you still a Disclosed Dual Agent? Are you getting the CIS signed by the people you're working with? Are you using the prescribed Addendum to the standard Sales Contract? Do you know what vicarious liability is about? Have you amended your Listing Agreement? If you don't know what I'm talking about, you need to attend the August 16 class being held at SCAOR on the new Agency Law.
That's right - the new Agency Law. So if we're not practicing Agency the correct way, we could be breaking the law. The new State contract should be ready in about 30 days, and it will contain all the prescribed Agency language. However, in the meantime, Andy Taylor has prepared an Addendum on Agency for our sales contract, and we all should be using it. So don't be left out in the cold (excuse me, heat)! Sign up for one of the two classes (oops, the August 28th one has already sold out) and learn all you need to know about Agency, a new way to do business. See you next week.
