Time Management

Do It, Dump It, or Delegate It!

Tired of not knowing what to do with all those papers that appear on your desk or in your in box? Try practicing the "3 D's": Do it, Dump it, Delegate it!

Do It — Take whatever action is required of the paperwork you're reviewing. Do it when you receive the paper, rather than letting the paper sit on your desk for days or weeks.

Dump It — Read the paperwork, absorb the information, and then throw it away.

Delegate It — Read the paperwork, know that it's not something you need to deal with, and then send it on or get someone else to handle it. Get that paper off your desk.

Remember — Touch the paperwork that crosses your desk only once. Apply the 3 D's. You'll have more time for other important real estate tasks, and you will become more organized and more efficient.
